About Me

I’m a queer black essayist from Philly. I fancied myself a fiction writer until I encountered a genre-queer called creative nonfiction. My work engages with matters of race, gender, sexuality, and mental health.
The essays that rewired my brain:
“You and Whose Army?” by Hilton Als
Personal mantra:
Your silence will not protect you. — Audre Lorde, “The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action”
Personal anthem:
I feel most colored when I’m looking at my bank account — Danez Smith, “C.R.E.A.M.”
